Harting Financial, LLC was founded by Troy Harting, a passionate investor and planner whose interest in finance was sparked during his MBA studies. During his subsequent years in the Air Force he observed that many advisors and financial managers seemed to complicate their trade to justify high compensation, often delivering recommendations that benefited themselves more than their clients. This realization, coupled with his desire to provide a better, more transparent service, led to the creation of Harting Financial, LLC.

Troy’s earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and his PhD from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Prior to launching Harting Financial, LLC, Troy served as a professor and chair of the Department of Management at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he taught courses in investments, accounting, negotiations, and management principles.
